MSE Pricing Policy that enables presenting different rate types per PoS
Comparing rates from different channels, brand.com rates to Direct OTA channels or OTA/brand.com on Meta channels, requires a rate type & currency normalization to make sure the comparison will yield the correct insight.
Different channels tend to represent the rates in different ways & types.
We have seen the following rate types being used in different channels:
- Net rates – A rate without any additional taxes
- Total – A rate including all the applied taxes
- Sub Total – A rate including most of the taxes. In some cases, some of the local taxes will not be included in the rate.
- Different currencies and representation requirements for different PoS
Using the tax information & currency exchange rates, we arithmetically calculate the correct rate and make sure the correct rate type in the correct currency is compared.
According to the pricing policy of TripAdvisor*, bidders may show either Net, Sub-total or Total prices for their bids depending on POS in which the bid is visible.
FornovaDI is aligned with Tripadvisor’s policies of POS price classification.
When the shown price is a sub-total, we classify the price as Net price. In the cases of Net or Total price, the prices will remain Net/Total.
Aligning Fornova DI to Tripadvisor’s policies is done whenever Tripadvisor amends their policies and could affect the BML trends in Fornova DI.
