One of the main pieces of evidence the FornovaDI platform provides is the screenshot. It provides proof for the hotels to share and discuss with the different partners regarding their distribution issues.
Once you open the direct link there are two factors that can impact the price you see: Point of sale (POS) & Time
For example, see this screenshot below :
- POS – we scanned TripAdvisor from the UK
- Time – the prices were scanned at December 27th 00:18 UTC
When we open Tripadvisor (in this example) live, for the same search criteria (hotel/CI & CO date) from a different POS, we receive different prices and OTA's:
The reason for this may be the PoS pricing -
What is PoS pricing? It means that for the same search results, the OTA shows different rates / promotions / discounts depending on the point of sale.
Moreover, rate updates is a dynamic process where OTA's sometimes manipulate their rates depending on the time (for example during offline hours in the nights) and then revert the rate back to normal after few hours.
FormovaDI gives you a global view to control your rates in both different time zones and PoS.
Use the snapshot as an evidence for any inconsistent prices you might find.
