How the DHS is calculated on the Distribution Overview Page
The DHS on the Distribution Overview page is an improved DHS calculation method that depends on settings enabled per user.
The settings can be adjusted according to the hotel distribution strategy: Distribution or Guest point of view, Rates only BML, and Rates+Inventory.
The DHS changes based on the POV (Point of View) and BML selected.
Distribution Point of View is focused on the Distribution Strategy of the hotel - how the hotel is selling on all your distribution channels.
Distribution POV is related mostly to the comparisons on MSE, as in this case, we take all the bids found on MSE into the score calculation.
Using this POV, you can see how each channel behaves individually and evaluate your distribution strategy better.
Guest Point of View means that we present the information from the point of view of the potential customer.
That's why we are focused on the cheapest bids only, since the potential customer will book the room with the cheapest rate.
Using this POV, you can analyze the channels that provide the cheapest rates for your hotel and compare them with Brand offers.
BML Rates Only value includes only “Beat”, “Meet” and “Lose” cases into score calculation, while Rates+Inventory also indicates the cases when Inventory was N/A on any of the channels (Brand, OTA, or both).
Based on that, the DHS can be adapted to any of the settings above.
In case, you want to check DHS from different perspectives, you can create several views in your account based on different DHS calculations:
